Special‑Purpose Machine Series | TUP HD‑MIM, The Injection Molding Machine Truly Built for Powder Alloy

Table of Content [Hide]

The HD‑MIM powder‑alloy special‑purpose injection molding machine is positioned around high efficiency, high precision and dedicated performance, engineered for the deep integration of metal powder and injection molding processes. Not every injection molding machine is capable of handling this specialized application. The HD‑MIM addresses three major process challenges: heavy wear, high loading ratio and high precision, which impose stringent requirements on equipment. Beyond standalone machines, TUP delivers full‑chain dedicated solutions. From material compatibility to molding control, it breaks through technical bottlenecks comprehensively, maintaining outstanding stability, accuracy and durability even under extreme operating conditions.

    MIM Principle

MIM (Metal Injection Molding) is a near‑net‑shape manufacturing process combining plastic injection molding with powder metallurgy.

It is compatible with metal powders including stainless steel, titanium alloy, copper, iron‑nickel and more, enabling high‑volume custom injection molding of metal‑powder components.

Injection molding serves as the critical intermediate step: feedstock is heated and plasticized inside the machine. The compound is injected at high speed and high pressure into the mold cavity. After cooling, green parts with defined shape and strength are obtained. The quality of green parts directly determines the performance and yield of final sintered products.

    Core Advantages

TUP MIM powder‑alloy special‑purpose machine is derived from the HD multi‑color injection molding platform, combining accumulated expertise in multi‑material compound molding with metal‑powder forming capability.

Custom‑engineered injection unit follows the design philosophy: sufficient force delivers stable compression. Ample injection pressure lays a solid foundation for consistent MIM molding. Its modular design enables flexible injection‑unit configurations. One injection unit can satisfy multiple product requirements and greatly improve equipment utilization.

For plasticizing assemblies, the full HD‑MIM range adopts MIM‑specific barrel assemblies with specialized optimization. They precisely match powder particle sizes and accurately control check‑ring clearance to guarantee uniform and stable plasticization. The two‑section nozzle structure allows easy disassembly and assembly, cutting change‑over costs while balancing wear resistance, precision and service‑friendliness.

The feeding port is fitted with a stainless‑steel liner with mirror‑finished inner surface to ensure smooth powder feeding and eliminate material blockage. Its non‑scratch construction prevents contamination by metallic debris, preserves material purity and further improves product quality.

For advanced precision manufacturing, optional upgraded power and high‑response proportional directional valves enable high‑speed precision injection for one‑shot forming of thin‑wall complex parts. An optional vacuum unit creates negative pressure inside the mold cavity to reduce internal stress and minimize sintering deformation. Customers can select options as needed for targeted capital investment.

Built on the “machine dedicated to its application” design concept, the HD‑MIM powder‑alloy machine delivers a turn‑key total solution for metal injection molding. It minimizes repeated trial‑and‑error for material and process adaptation. From equipment selection to production launch, seamless on‑site alignment boosts productivity and yield substantially.
